Livingston Parish Library
I was the Adult Services Coordinator at the Livingston Parish Library from 2019-2024. I leveraged my MLIS degree and BA in Mass Communications to create and curate engaging and diverse programs for adult patrons. I gained five years of experience in research, event programming, and speaker management, and I am passionate about information science and community outreach.

I have successfully implemented and led customer-centric initiatives and community engagement strategies in Adult Programs, contributing to the library's high Google Reviews rating of 4.8/5. I have also adapted to the changing needs and preferences of the patrons, especially during the 2020 pandemic, by pioneering technology integration and virtual program delivery. I am always looking for new ways to enhance the library's services, resources, and impact.
01
Juneteenth Community!
I curated Livingston Parish Library's first-ever Juneteenth Community program, a groundbreaking initiative that celebrated the rich history and cultural significance of Juneteenth. I brought together influential guest speakers, including Peonage Detective and Genealogist Antoinette Harrell, CEO Celton Hayton Jr. of CC's Coffeehouse, and author and Strategic HR Consultant & Career Coach LaQueda Ricks, to share their insights and experiences with the community. The program featured a series of engaging presentations and discussions, highlighting themes of resilience, empowerment, and the ongoing journey toward equality. My work in organizing this event involved extensive planning, outreach, and collaboration to ensure the program resonated with the community and honored the importance of Juneteenth.

Craft Programs
I developed and led craft programs that offered adult patrons hands-on opportunities to explore their creativity. These programs featured a wide range of projects, from seasonal crafts to upcycling and DIY home decor, ensuring there was something for everyone. I provided step-by-step guidance to make each craft accessible and enjoyable, regardless of skill level. These sessions not only encouraged creativity but also promoted relaxation and social connection, giving patrons a chance to unwind and connect with others in a friendly, creative environment.
03
Art Programs
I curated various art programs that brought creativity and inspiration to our adult patrons. By inviting guest artists to share their expertise and lead workshops, I provided unique opportunities for artistic expression and learning. In addition to coordinating these guest-led sessions, I also taught easy-to-follow art programs myself, ensuring that patrons of all skill levels could enjoy the therapeutic and expressive benefits of art. These programs not only fostered a sense of community but also empowered individuals to explore their creativity in a supportive environment.

Games
I regularly placed interactive puzzles in the library to stimulate cognitive functions and encourage problem-solving among adult patrons. These puzzles served as both a mental exercise and a stress-relief activity, fostering social interaction and providing a relaxing yet intellectually engaging experience.
