Committed Leader, Educator, and Visionary,  Effortfully Rising.

I am C.L.E.V.E.R! My passion for knowledge has always been a driving force in my life and career. Everyone, regardless of age, should have access to information. With patience and determination, anyone can learn anything. This philosophy has guided me from my Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to my teaching career. I have educated young minds about the English language, literacy, and information research. I then worked as a Digital Content Producer at a local news station. I managed our website, reporting breaking news developments and overseeing social media accounts. I also pursued my Master's in Library and Information Science at the University of Southern Mississippi. I spent several years working at my local public library. During this time, I learned to utilize library resources and technology to bring information to the public. I grew in my appreciation for the power of knowledge and the importance of education.

On May 6, 2024, I stepped into the role of Outreach Librarian for the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine, taking charge of driving engagement with the library's resources and services among students, faculty, and the broader community. I actively lead the development and execution of dynamic strategies, organizing impactful events, and creating educational programs that elevate the library’s presence within the veterinary field. Additionally, I manage crucial administrative responsibilities, including overseeing outreach budgets, spearheading communication efforts, delegating tasks for effective team collaboration, and ensuring the seamless planning and execution of all library initiatives. I also pioneered the creation of the library’s first graphic representation concept, further enhancing our ability to communicate our mission and values visually.

I was the President-elect of Louisiana's and Southern Mississippi's Community Chapter of the Special Libraries Association (SLA) from 2023 to 2024. This is a professional organization dedicated to developing library professionals in special libraries. At the Livingston Parish Library, I was a member of six collaborative groups within my local library system, and I also served as a Digital Navigator. With the help of the National Digital Inclusion Alliance, we held classes and provided one-to-one tutorials for beginners who wanted to enhance their digital literacy. We partnered with local schools and libraries to expand our reach and provide more opportunities for digital literacy. We expanded our online resources to help those in our community who are unable to access our webinars. Finally, we worked to raise awareness of digital literacy in our community to ensure everyone has equal access.

I take great pride in my work. I believe it's time to broaden my horizons. I want to share my 25+ years of experience, leadership skills, professional insights, and creative abilities with a wider audience.
